Prep time is an important consideration for everything. Whether we are planning a dinner, giving a presentation or getting ready for work or an important event…there has to be an allowance for additional time to get ready. I mean we can only “throw something together” for so long before we run out of steam …and grace!
There is only so long that we can do the old ‘fake it til you make it’ before our lack of preparation becomes apparent. Once in a while we can make it through with a ‘just show up and hope it all works’ attitude but in order to really give 100% to what we do – we MUST put in the time to prepare.
Why is it that we often prepare the least for the most important purpose set before us in life? As believers we are in the fight of our life! The enemy is waging war for our very soul and it isn’t a battle we want to engage in without preparation!!
Ephesians 6:11 & 13 calls us to “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil….put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”
God’s Word makes it very clear that we must prepare. There are no short cuts in this one. Time in God’s Word and in prayer are necessary for today’s events. Allowing for prep time is critically important!
