Have you ever felt like you are up at the pinata? First they blindfold you. Then someone puts a pole in your hand, spins you around three times and lets you go…wandering around, waving the pole and hoping you hit the target that is hanging up…usually a hollow paper mache’ animal of some kind that is filled with candy. Of course, if you’re successful and whack the pinata just right, it cracks open and out spills all the candy…the fruit of your labor!

Then there are the days that you feel like you actually ARE the pinata! But that’s a story for another day!

God invites us to follow after Him. There are days when we may feel like we are flying blindly through life…but the truth is when we decide to trust God with our life we are making the very best decision we ever could! Psalm 37:23 says, “The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” Every. Detail. See, the energy we put into stressing over how things are going to go and how they will work out takes a lot out of us!

Part of a devotion that I read early this morning said this: “Do not stress about your steps. God always puts them in order.” There was just something so clear about that. He always puts our steps in order. I have seen Him orchestrate the most beautiful message out of an absolute mess. It is one of the many things that God specializes in. Our responsibility is to seek Him. If we will take one step toward God today…He will help us the rest of the way!
